Looking for other stuff is just boring when you know that you are undefeatable if you don't cripple yourself by not using what the game gives you. But what if you completed the game on normal or easy and want to keep playing now and then, even if just to see what weapons they are still missing? After completing the game on hard I have only round about 60 out of 70 weapons, but as long as this one weapon is in the game I know nothing will be even close as good. There will be no build diversity in SW2's endgame until this monstrosity gets removed or nerfed.įor a lot of people you might be right, they will stop when they completed the game once, no matter what difficulty they played. The cherry on top: it's a guaranteed quest reward. For no cost of any kind, each swing sends out an energy wave that (1) pierces (2) every enemy in an arc (3) for 100% of your melee damage. The Arm of Orochi katana is not only the best melee weapon in the game, it's also the best ranged weapon. In addition, there is one build that simply overwhelms all others once you've completed the game: Arm of Orochi melee crit. Enemies and drops do not change at all in New Game Plus - Insane NG is identical to Insane NG+. You get the same mission rewards, most notably skill points (~50 per playthrough) but also any optional guns you missed.

You restart the story at the beginning and play through each mission again in sequence, just like your first game. (Earlier missions never get scaled-up enemies, either in NG or NG+.) Worse, three of those five missions are in Zilla City, which many players (myself included) seriously dislike for ARPG gameplay.

The 'endgame' takes two forms, neither one satisfactory (despite the excellent core gameplay).
